EU has pledged a financial support of €5.17 million towards education in Somalia. It signed a four-year deal with the government of Somalia.
Through the agreement, EU will support collaboration between the educational officials and other stakeholders.
The money will also go into harmonizing education policies. Through it, education officials will have the resources needed to implement the framework for the new curriculum.
The EU hopes that the support will help delivery of equitable and inclusive education of the highest quality for all.
Moreover, EU hopes to see a huge upturn in the ability and capacity of the officials to manage and regulate the sector well.
H.E. Abdullahi Godah Bare, the country’s Federal Minister of Education says, “We have massive potential and great people.”
He continues to say, “This support fills us with excitement as we endeavor to fulfill our potential. The support will enable us to improve educational opportunities in the country too. We also hope to see all stakeholders brought together to shape our future.”
