54 Ugandan Soldiers Killed in Recent Terror Attack at an ATMIS Base

Fifty-four Ugandan soldiers were killed in a recent attack on an African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) base.

On Saturday, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni confessed that the attack caused the deaths of 54 Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) in Somalia.

The soldiers were killed by terrorists who attacked a forward operating base (FOB) in Bula Marer.

Nevertheless, President Museveni confirmed that the Ugandan forces had recaptured the base from members of the Islamist group.

This represents the first time anyone has provided details on the casualties.
