There was drama at Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport when the former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire was denied entry.
Drama ensued when the airport security engaged the former premier’s entourage in a heated argument.
Khaire was scheduled to travel outside the country.
As the argument got more heated, a fight almost broke between his entourage and the security officers at the airport.
Multiple sources at the airport confirm the incident. However, according to sources close to Khaire’s team, it was his wife who was travelling and who was involved in this incident and not Khaire.
Few months ago, two former presidents were denied to board a plane traveling to Baledweyne. The former presidents won the courcase as judge ruled that their personal freedoms were violated.
Khaire was removed out of office in unclear circumstances in late July following a vote of no confidence passed against him by the House of Representatives.
Airport authorities and the Federal Government of Somalia are yet to comment on the incident.
