Mahdi M. Gulaid, the Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia, chaired the latest meeting of the National COVID-19 Coordination Committee.
The February 18 meeting was held online.
During the meeting, participants discussed various ways through which the government and other stakeholders have carried out the fight against COVID-19.
They also talked about the recent announcement by the Ministry of Health that Somalia is experiencing a second wave of the virulent disease.
Gulaid encouraged government institutions, private agencies, and development partners to work closely with the health ministry to defeat the disease.
