Ethiopia confirmed that it indeed signed the historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Somaliland.
A press release from the Office of the Prime Minister confirmed that Ethiopia signed the agreement with Somaliland on January 1.
In the press release, the Office of the Prime Minister confirms that the MoU is mutually beneficial to Ethiopia and Somaliland.
It indicates that Ethiopia would benefit from a secure access to the sea while diversifying its access to seaports.
The Prime Minister’s office adds that the agreement is great for the security, political, and economic partnership between Ethiopia and Somaliland too.
