A high-ranking European Union (EU) official has expressed solidarity with Somalia over this week’s deal that Ethiopia signed with Somaliland.
Josep Borrell Fontelles, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, held a phone conversation with Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Fontelles and President Mohamud spoke on the phone on Thursday night.
Fontelles assured President Mohamud of the EU’s support in the country’s quest for territorial integrity, sovereignty, and unity.
