Islamic Summit Conference Supports Somalia in Row with Ethiopia

The 15th Islamic Summit Conference has thrown its weight behind Somalia in the country’s diplomatic row with Ethiopia.

Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama mentioned that the Islamic Summit took Somalia’s side.

Representatives of the member states at the conference rejected the agreement that Ethiopia signed with Somaliland on January 1, 2024.

They called the agreement a “violation” of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Furthermore, they also indicated plans to vote for Fawzia Yusuf, who is Somalia’s candidate for the upcoming elections for the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).
