Norway Donates 35 Industrial Sewing Machines to Somali Women

The Norwegian Embassy in Somalia has donated 35 industrial sewing machines to women and girls in the East African nation.

The Embassy donated the machines on February 4.

While making the donation, the Embassy stated that the sewing machines would help women and girls to increase production of Soma Eco Pads.

The pads are not only locally made, but also environmentally friendly and affordable.

Many women and girls in the Horn of Africa nation are unable to afford pads to manage their menstrual cycles and bleeding better.

Norwegian government believes that the machines would improve productivity while empowering the women and girls.
