One militant was killed as United States military carried out a fresh drone attack against a known Al-Shabaab base.
Reports show that the US military carried out an airstrike at Buulo Fulaay, which is in south Somalia.
The US military conducted the raid on January 13.
One death was reported immediately as reports mentioned several injuries sustained by the Al-Shabaab militants.
Crucially, the Al-Shabaab base where the militants operated from was reduced to ruins during Wednesday’s attack.
Interestingly, the attack took place just as the US makes plans to pull out its troops from the East African nation.
The Department of Defense and the Pentagon have been making plans to pull the US troops out of Somalia by January 15.
Initially, outgoing President Donald Trump had mentioned the troops’ withdrawal while campaigning ahead of last year’s US presidential elections, which he lost.
