On Monday evening, security officers finally succeeded in getting back control of the hotel after killing all the six militants who were responsible for the initial attack.
Reports show that the militants had killed eight innocent civilians and one soldier.
Five others were injured before security forces regained control.
Sadik Duudishe, a police spokesperson, confirmed that security agents successfully rescued 60 people from the siege at the hotel.
