Protests in Mogadishu over Somaliland-Ethiopia Agreement

Street protests have broken out in Mogadishu over the agreement signed on Monday between Ethiopia and Somaliland.

Mogadishu residents took to the streets to protest the deal that paves the way for Ethiopia to offer Somaliland the international recognition the latter needs.

Ethiopia now enjoys access to 20km of the Somaliland port of Berbera.

Somalia has started engaging foreign diplomats to help pile pressure on Ethiopia to pull out of the deal.
