Somali National Army (SNA) forces killed 28 Al-Shabaab militants during a military operation in Galgadud region.
General Odawa Yusuf Rage, the Chief Army Commander, confirmed the news to the media.
He said that the military operation took place on Sunday, November 8.
During the exercise, government troops successfully liberated several villages in the region from the grip and control of the extremists.
Al-Shabaab has a massive presence in the region. It has established several bases in villages spread all over the region.
