There has been report of an intense battle between Al-Shabaab and the Somali Army forces in Lower Juba Hosingow area. Al-Shabaab attacked the Somali National Forces but the National Forces managed to fight them off. According to locals, there were Al-Shabaab casualties, However there’s no formal communication on the total number of fatalities.
The feud between Jubaland and the FGS regarding the outcome of the elections in Kismayo, is likely to help Al-Shabaab gain more ground in Jubaland.
