A group of Somali legislators have called for cessation of hostilities and violence in Mudug.
The federal Members of Parliament (MPs), Senators, and cabinet ministers met in Mogadishu to discuss ways of solving the inter-clan clashes in Mudug.
They spoke over the clashes between clans from Mudug and Galdogob in Galmudug and Puntland respectively.
Ministers who attended the meeting were Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and Fardowsa Osman Egal.
Fiqi and Egal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation respectively, represented the warring clans at the meeting.
Afterward, they released a statement calling for immediate ceasefire.
Furthermore, reports indicate that a second meeting will take place next week to find solutions to the clashes.
