Joint operations between Somali military and international security partners to eliminate Al-Shabaab militants in Lower Shabelle picked up pace this week.
On Monday evening, the military carried out multiple airstrikes targeting Al-Shabaab militants in the Lower Shabelle village of Furuqley.
The village is near Qoryoley district.
Sources within the military stated that the airstrikes would continue until Al-Shabaab militants in the area are smoked out and eliminated.
Recent attacks targeted militants extorting members of public at road blocks in the village.
