Somali Premier Addresses SDG Summit in New York

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit in New York.

The Prime Minister led a delegation of Somali government officers to the summit.

On Monday, he addressed other global leaders on a myriad of issues pertaining to Somalia.

His speech dwelt on the tangible measures Somalia is taking to address pressing socioeconomic challenges facing the country.

He assured the audience that Somalia would increase investments in education as a solution for the challenges.

“Somalia is committed to the reduction of illiteracy rates,” he added.

“Our government seeks the expansion of access to quality education too,” added the Premier.

To this end, he promised that the government would promote technical and vocational training around the country.
