Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has postponed the National Council Consultative (NCC) Summit that was scheduled for April 20 in Mogadishu.
A communique from the Office of the Prime Minister indicated that the summit would not proceed as earlier scheduled.
According to the Prime Minister’s office, the summit could not proceed because of “technical reasons.”
It is worth noting that Puntland had vowed not to attend the summit.
Last month, Puntland stated that it would no longer recognize the Somali government after parliamentarians approved amendments to the Provisional Constitution.
