Danish Foreign Minister talks with Somali Prime Minister in Mogadishu

Somali’s Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre, held talks with the Danish Foreign Minister, Jeppe Sebastian Kofod, in Mogadishu.

The lengthy discussion they had focused on identifying ways of strengthening the diplomatic ties that exist between their countries. Moreover, they also talked about the Danish government’s continued support for Somalia.

The Danish Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the warm reception that he and his delegation got from the Somalis. He further reiterated the continued cooperation Somalia will get from Copenhagen in its war on terror and for improved national security.

Officials from the two countries held further discussions on the need for the continued development of the economy.  They focused on various reconstruction and rebuilding projects being undertaken in this Horn of Africa country as it recovers from years of chaos and neglect.
