Somali Prime Minister Urges New Ministers to Respect Country’s Constitution

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has directed his new cabinet ministers, deputies, and state ministers to respect Somalia’s while discharging their duties.

The Prime Minister was speaking a few days after the federal House of the People (Lower House) voted overwhelmingly to approve his choice of ministers.

He also advised them to discharge their duties diligently.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Barre has banned the appointment and dismissal of senior government officials.

Specifically, he said that the appointment or dismissal of any senior officer must adhere to the country’s constitution and the Civil Service Act.
