Somalia Declares No Dialogue with Ethiopia Until MoU with Somaliland is revoked

Somalia has declared that it will not enter into any sort of dialogue with Ethiopia as long as the latter’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ethiopia is not revoked.

Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Somalia ruled out any dialogue with Ethiopia.

Somalia said this while welcoming the decision by the G7 foreign affairs ministers on Friday.

The G7 foreign affairs ministers met in Capri, Italy from April 16-19.

Afterward, they released a statement reiterating their commitment to the advancement of peace, stability, and security in the Horn of Africa.

Somalia called on Ethiopia to respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
