Somalia Launches National Reconciliation Framework

Somalia has launched its National Reconciliation Framework.

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre launched the framework on Tuesday in a ceremony held in Mogadishu.

The Prime Minister stated that reconciliation is integral to the Somali culture.

The framework is a joint effort between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation.

UNDP said it felt proud to facilitate the reconciliation process in Somalia.

It added that the reconciliation framework would strengthen the infrastructure for peace in the East African nation.
