Somalia is the proud recipient of security funds worth $116.9 million from the European Union (EU).
On Wednesday, the EU stated that it had already disbursed the funds to the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
EU’s Political and Security Committee approved the disbursement of the funds.
According to the committee, the funds will help to smoothen the transition of the security tasks from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to Somali National Army (SNA).
