Somalia’s Auditor General Ahmed Gutale says that Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) play a crucial role in driving climate action.
AG Gutale said this while delivering the keynote address at the 26th United Nations and INTOSAI Global Symposium, which takes place in Vienna, Austria.
The focus of Gutale’s keynote address was the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13.
He reiterated the importance of SAIs in ensuring that actions designed to reduce the impact of climate change proceed uninterrupted.
Specifically, he also dwelt on the climate-related challenges that Somalia faces.
Gutale also briefed the symposium on the crucial contributions of the Office of the Auditor General in mitigating such challenges.
