Somalia’s Planning Minister Holds Discussions with African Counterparts in Tunis

Somalia’s Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development held discussions with his counterparts from other African nations in Tunis.

Mohamud Beenebeene, the planning minister, met with other planning ministers in Tunis on Monday, August 29.

Beenebeene had accompanied Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre to Tunis to attend the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD8).

The conference ran from August 27-28.

Ali Omar, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs accompanied Beenebeene in the meeting with other ministers.

The two Somali ministers met with their counterparts from Rwanda, Algeria, and Ethiopia.

During their meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the TICAD8 conference, the ministers discussed ways of accelerating economic transformation on the continent.
