The Ugandan People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) has accused foreigners of carrying out the deadly attack at Bulo Marer on Friday.
Al-Shabaab had earlier claimed full responsibility for the attack carried out in the wee hours of the morning.
However, Felix Kulayigye claimed otherwise.
Kulayigye is the official UPDF spokesperson.
In his statement to the media, Kulayigye stated that “foreign insurgents” were fully behind the attack.
This far, Al-Shabaab places the number of African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) killed in the attack at 137.
There has been no independent verification of the casualties though.
Kulayigye added that investigations are underway.
