US Vows to Strengthen Partnership with Somalia

The United States government has promised a stronger partnership with Somalia.

Antony J. Blinken, the US Secretary of State, said this while congratulating Somalia as it celebrated the 63rd anniversary of its independence day.

Somalia attained independence on July 1, 1960.

Secretary of State Blinken commended Somalia for the efforts it has put in to defeat terrorism while building peace and stability.

Blinken the areas the US would strengthen its partnership with Somalia.

These include governance, reconciliation, and inclusive economic growth. Both nations would also work closely in improving resiliency to drought among other climatic shocks.
