Ten Al-Shabaab militants surrendered to security agents on Monday.
They surrendered and defected to security forces in Baidoa, the administrative capital of the regional state of Southwest.
While surrendering, the militants confessed that they had fought for the terrorist group for years.
They also participated in several high-profile wars in the region.
Their wars were mostly against military bases and convoys operating in the region.
Some of the areas they have operated in include Bay, Lower Shabelle, Middle Shabelle, Hiiraan, Mudug, and Bakool.
