10 Somalis Return to Mogadishu from Libya

Ten Somalis returned to the East African nation from Libya on November 18.

Their return was possible following the intervention of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).

The Somali government was part of a joint initiative between the European Union (EU) and the International Organization on Migration (IOM).

Many African immigrants use Libya as a gateway to Europe.

Consequently, many of the would-be escapees end up stuck in Libya when their trip to Europe to leave the life of poverty behind fails to progress as scheduled.

The plane carrying the Somalis landed at the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu on Thursday.
