An elite unit of the Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers has arrived in Baledweyne.
The 100 soldiers who arrived at Baledweyne on July 6 did so after recent complaints regarding the increased presence and activities of Al-Shabaab terrorists.
President Ali Hussein Gudlawe of the regional state of HirShabelle had requested the deployment of troops from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Gudlawe hopes that the 100 Turkish-trained forces would help dislodge the terrorists from Hiran.
Upon arrival, the elite troops started patrolling the area.
