Eleven people lost their lives when the driver of a truck lost control and hit a petrol station on Tuesday night.
Governor Mustaf Ali Kheyre of Halwadag District confirmed the incident and the number of casualties to the media.
Upon arriving at the scene, Governor Kheyre confirmed that over 10 people had died on the spot as others were rushed to the nearby hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
Mogadishu experiences several accidents regularly because of poor management of the roads by traffic police and other relevant officers.
