Somali Embassy in Pakistan has repatriated Somalia nationals who have been stranded in the Middle East nation because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 117 Somalis were unable to leave Pakistan to return home after the Pakistani government banned all international flights to and from the country.
However, the moment the Pakistani government lifted the ban, the Somalis were able to return home to their loved ones.
Somali Embassy in Pakistan coordinated the entire process in conjunction with the government of Pakistan.
Most of them were students admitted at various universities around Pakistan.
Ms. Khadijo Mohamed Al-Maqsumi, Somali’s Ambassador to Pakistan, expressed her gratitude to Allah for making the repatriation of Somali nationals possible.
Recently, the Federal Government of Somalia was able to evacuate Somalis stranded in Kenya because of the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.
