Thirteen Somalis are the proud recipients of this year’s Chevening scholarships.
The 13, who include eight from Somalia and five from Somaliland, left for the United Kingdom on August 26 to start their studies.
They all plan to study their Master’s.
The United Kingdom Embassy in Mogadishu bid the 13 recipients farewell on Thursday after hosting a virtual pre-departure event in their honor.
Some of the subjects that the students are to study during their time in the UK include aviation and development finance, information security, conflicts resolution, and public health.
Kate Foster, the British Ambassador to Somalia, was on hand to wish the students success in their educational endeavors.
