Fourteen deaths were confirmed in a terror attack carried out at a stadium in Galkayo on December 18.
As many as 10 people were reportedly injured in the incident and rushed to hospital.
Among the dead were senior Somali National Army (SNA) commanders.
Gen. Abdiaziz Qooje, the Commander of SNA’s 21st Division, was among the dead.
Major Mukhtar Abdi Aden, Commander of the 10th Brigade of Danab Special Forces, also lost his life in the deadly blast.
Ahmed Barafe, the Deputy Commander of the 10th Brigade of Danab Special Forces, also died in Friday’s incident.
Authorities confirmed that Mohamud Tumey, the former Governor of North Galkayo, died too.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble was to attend an event at the Abdullahi Isse Stadium in Galkayo before the blast forced a cancellation of all his plans.
