The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, successfully led the repatriation of 164 Somali youth from Libya under the Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR) program.
The youths, who had been stranded in Libya, arrived back home on Thursday.
This initiative, supported by the European Union (EU), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), ensured the safe return of these individuals to Hargeisa and Mogadishu.
This operation reflects Somalia’s ongoing commitment to the welfare and protection of its citizens abroad, particularly those facing difficult situations.
