17 Maternal and Child Health Facilities in Somalia Equipped with Solar Power Systems

Seventeen maternal and child health centers in Somalia, as well as 9 referral hospitals, have been equipped with solar power systems.

According to a World Health Organization (WHO) report, the installation of solar power systems in the facilities ensures a reliable and sustainable electricity supply, which is crucial for maintaining medical services like oxygen therapy.

Solar energy not only reduces dependency on fossil fuels but also enhances the availability of life-saving treatments, particularly for critically ill patients.

This initiative, as reported by WHO Somalia, highlights efforts to provide clean energy solutions that directly benefit public health and sustainability in the region.
