18 Candidates Airlifted to Mogadishu for National Exams

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has airlifted 18 candidates to Mogadishu for sit for the ongoing national exams.

Reports indicate that the government hired a plane for the students who were from Barawe, the administrative capital of Somalia’s Southwest State.

On Sunday, the plane carrying the students touched down at the Aden Adde International Airport.

The government took this decision after it emerged that the students had been unable to sit for their first paper because of insecurity in Barawe.

Upon arriving in Mogadishu, the students could not hold back their happiness.

Hamza Said Hamza, the Minister of Relief and Disaster Management, was at the Mogadishu airport to welcome the students.

Nurani Hussein, a local Member of Parliament (MP), expressed his gratitude to the government and the country’s education ministry for enabling the students to sit for their examinations.

More than 30,000 students across the East African nation commenced their national examinations on Saturday.
