On Thursday, the Ministry of Health announced that Somalia had confirmed 19 new COVID-19 cases, which have pushed the number of patients in the country to 601.
Out of this, the Minister of Health reported that 18 new cases were in Mogadishu alone.
Further, Dr. Fawziya Abikar, the Minister of Health, announced that 11 patients had recovered from the virulent disease, which has killed close to 250,000 globally.
Dr. Abikar also had more good news when she said that there were no new deaths to report in the last two days.
COVID-19 has hit the war-ravaged Horn of Africa nation harder thus causing the government to ban all international and domestic flights while imposing a nighttime curfew too.
