2.8 Million People in Somalia Received Humanitarian Aid in April, Declares WFP

More than 2.8 million people in Somalia benefited from humanitarian assistance in April. The World Food Programme (WFP) revealed this in its latest report published earlier this month.

Furthermore, the global organization added that over $31.8 million was released to the vulnerable through cash-based transfers in the same period.

WFP and other stakeholders ensured the distribution of 2,826 metric tons of in-kind food assistance to the needy.

Somalia, according to the Integrated Phase Classification (IPC), has more than 3.8 million people who face acute food insecurity.

Consequently, a significant portion of the population still requires immediate humanitarian assistance in supplies and cash.
