Two lawmakers representing their constituents at the local regional parliament lost their lives in a gruesome explosion in Galgadud.
They are a Member of Parliament at the local council and a regional state lawmaker.
Local authorities identified the deceased as Abdullahi Ibrahim Shaaciye and Mohamed Mohamud Ahmed.
They died in a roadside explosion that took place on Monday in the recently liberated town of El-Garas.
Shaaciye and Ahmed were in the region to check up on government troops and local fighters who successfully Al-Shabaab terrorists.
