28 Somali Councilors Elected in Recent British Elections Attend Dinner Held in Their Honor

Twenty-eight Somali councilors attended a dinner held in their honor in London on Sunday.

The councilors, who are British-Somali, had emerged victorious in elections held across Great Britain last week.

They won the polls in different parties.

The May 22 dinner saw councilors from the Conservatives, Labor, and Green parties.

A couple of them had also won despite running as independent candidates in the highly competitive local government elections.

Hodan Haili and Faduma A. Mohamed organized the dinner on behalf of their colleagues.

The two were among the victors in the recent polls, which took place on May 5. Haili is the Labor Councilor for North Acton.
