Three members of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Somalia (CBS) tendered their resignation.
They resigned a few days after Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi’s reappointment as the Governor of the Central Bank for a further four years.
The Board members who resigned were Abdisamad Nur Hassan, Osman Salad Gabeyre, and Sakhawadin Mustafe Mohamed.
They stated that the reappointment of Abdullahi as the Central Bank Governor was the primary reason behind their decision to resign from the Board.
“We no longer have any confidence in the leadership of Governor Abdullahi,” they wrote in their resignation notice.
