Somaliland’s Ministry of Health has confirmed 35 new COVID-19 cases in the country in the last 24 hours.
The number is the highest the country has reported over a 24-hour period since it first reported COVID-19 cases.
Consequently, with the announcement, the tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases has shot up to 203 with one death reported.
The country’s health ministry also announced that 24 of the 35 new cases are male while the rest are female.
Fourteen of the new cases are from Borama, the capital of Awdal. Borao and Hargeisa have eight cases each. Two are from Berbera, another two in Lasanod, and one in Allaybaday.
With the one additional fatality announced, the number of people to die of the virulent disease in Somaliland has now reached 19.
