Forty Somali nationals have safely left Ukraine since war broke out in the European nation this week.
A statement from Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this development on March 5.
In Saturday’s statement, the foreign affairs ministry indicated that 40 Somalis had left Ukraine safely for Poland.
Four more Somalis traveled to Germany from Ukraine.
Additionally, another seven people of Somali origin would arrive in Poland in the next few hours or days once their documentation is in order.
Ukraine is currently embroiled in a war with Russia.
President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian troops to Ukraine to launch attacks against Ukrainians and various important installations around the country.
