Houthis rebels attacked a Singapore-flagged ship that was traveling to Somalia earlier this week.
Sources revealed that the attack on MV Lobovia took place while the vessel was on its way to Somalia’s Berbera Port from Djibouti. It sustained slight damages during the attack.
Houthis rebels said that they attacked the vessel because it used Israeli ports.
This incident highlights the ongoing security threats in the region’s maritime routes, particularly from militant groups.
The attack raises concerns about the safety of commercial shipping and the need for increased security measures to protect vessels passing through these waters.
Further details about the attack, such as the extent of the damage or any casualties, are yet to be disclosed.
However, all the crew aboard the vessel remain safe. Houthis rebels never captured any of the crew.
