31 Young Somalis Released from Sudan Prisons Expected on Mogadishu on Wednesday

Thirty-one young Somalis who have been held in Sudanese prisons are expected to arrive in Mogadishu on Wednesday.

The Somali government has been working to secure their release and facilitate their safe return home.

It did so through the Somali Embassy in Khartoum.

The young Somalis had been in Port Sudan prisons for the last five months before the Embassy intervened to secure their release.

These individuals were reportedly detained under various circumstances, and their return marks a significant moment in efforts to bring back Somali nationals from difficult situations abroad.

The government has not yet provided further details on the conditions of their detention or the specific arrangements for their return.
