Somalia’s Ministry of Health has confirmed 44 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.
The new cases were confirmed from 2,432 samples that were collected and tested in the last five days around the country.
All the 44 new cases are from Somaliland.
Out of them, 34 are male while the remaining 10 are female.
Meanwhile, 19 new recoveries and 2 deaths were also recorded.
Consequently, the East African country has seen its tally of confirmed cases increase to 3,941 as recoveries and deaths climb to 3,185 and 104 respectively.
The health ministry has urged all Somalis to continue observing the COVID-19 protocols recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) to curb its spread around the country.
