SSC-Khaatumo Leader Discusses Political and Peace Initiatives with Norwegian Envoy

The leader of Somalia’s SSC-Khaatumo administration, Abdikadir Ahmed Aw-Ali, held a significant meeting with Carsten Carlsen, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Norwegian Embassy in Mogadishu. The meeting focused on critical and timely issues, particularly the evolving political landscape of the newly emerging SSC-Khaatumo State in northern Somalia.

During their discussions, Aw-Ali briefed the Norwegian diplomat on recent political developments within SSC-Khaatumo, including efforts to establish inclusive governance structures and ensure the region’s representation in Somalia’s federal framework. Both parties emphasized the importance of supporting peace-building and stabilization efforts in SSC-Khaatumo, a region that has faced prolonged instability and conflict.

The Norwegian envoy expressed his country’s continued commitment to supporting Somalia’s peace process and reiterated Norway’s role in promoting dialogue, reconciliation, and institutional development across Somalia. The talks highlighted the mutual interest in fostering stability and inclusive governance in SSC-Khaatumo through constructive international engagement and support.
