51 Al-Shabaab Fighters Killed in Clashes with SNA Soldiers

Fifty-one Al-Shabaab militants were killed during intense clashes with Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers on November 30.

The incident took place in Ba’adweyne on Monday.

On Tuesday, December 1, Somalia’s Ministry of Information released details of the deadly fight between government forces and members of the militia group.

According to the information ministry, 15 other deaths were recorded.

The 15 deaths were SNA soldiers and several civilians.

Further, the information ministry also reported that security agents had arrested six militants who were injured during the clashes.

Several sources confirmed that the incident started when Al-Shabaab fighters attacked Ba’adweyne in the morning.

Armed residents then rose up to fend off the militia group’s overtures.

SNA soldiers quickly teamed up with the armed residents to attack and chase the militants out of the town.
