On Saturday, Somalia’s Ministry of Health has confirmed that the country recorded 52 new COVID-19 cases.
The new cases were from 2,064 samples that health officials tested around the country in the last five days, or 120 hours.
Puntland was responsible for 40 of the cases while Somaliland recorded four.
According to the latest updates from the health ministry, Jubbaland and Banadir regions recorded five and three cases respectively.
Additionally, the ministry confirmed 159 new recoveries and no fatality.
Thirty-eight of the cases were male while the remaining 14 were females.
With the latest updates, Somalia has now recorded 3,362 COVID-19 cases. The tally of recoveries now stands at 2,738 with 97 deaths.
