64 New COVID-19 Cases Recorded in Somalia

Somalia has recorded 64 new cases of the deadly COVID-19 disease from samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health, which is headed by Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, reported the new figures on August 11.

In its latest updates, the health ministry said that the 64 new cases were from 1,014 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Banadir continues to lead with the number of cases. It’s responsible for 40 of the new cases.

Puntland follows with 19 cases while Somaliland has 4 and HirShabelle only one.

Out of these cases, 35 were male while the remaining 29 were female.

Further, the health ministry confirmed that 39 patients had recovered from the disease while one more person died.

Consequently, the total cases are now 16,103. Recoveries stand at 7,854 while deaths have increased to 864.
